Silicone baby doll care instructions

Caring for silicone

Silicone naturally attracts dust and lint and therefore needs to be cleaned regularly. The most common cleaning would be dusting. The easiest way to remove dust and lint is to dip a clean powder brush in a little baby powder.

Then you can brush the surface of the silicone to remove any dirt. This way the silicone stays soft like baby skin. If the silicone is very dirty, you can bathe the doll. To do this, use warm water and a mild soap. Glide a soft sponge or your hand over the silicone surface and remove dust, hair and lint. Rinse with clean water.

You can then dry the doll with a towel, blotting it without rubbing or scrubbing, or letting it air dry. Once the doll is dry, you should lightly dust it with baby powder to prevent the silicone from getting dirty.

Use a soft powder brush, making sure to get into all the little crevices and areas around the ears, eyes, and nose. Now your doll is ready to be dressed! Be careful not to pull or tear on the silicone too much when putting it on or holding it. Protect your doll from direct sunlight to prevent the color and hair from fading.

Mohair care

Your silicone doll has been rooted with mohair, a natural fiber from special goats. This hair is soft and beautiful and easy to maintain. Treat the hair like your own hair by brushing it gently. The hair is not anchored to the head, so be gentle and do not pull the hair or it may fall out. When bathing, be sure to keep your head above the water to avoid tangling your hair.

You can wash the hair with a mild soap or shampoo. I wouldn't use conditioner on my hair. Instead, I use baby detangling spray. Not only does it keep hair soft and smelling good, but it's also great for styling! Be careful when putting a hat on your baby as this can cause the hair to become matted and tangled, which can lead to tangling and pulling out of the hair. Always be gentle when brushing and styling!

I have found that the easiest and safest way to put the pacifier in my silicone doll's mouth is to rub the nipple with a little isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). This means the pacifier can slide in without friction, dries quickly, does not form mold and does not damage the silicone. Be careful when removing the pacifier as the alcohol may have dried. Be especially careful at the corners of your mouth, as pulling there can cause cracks.
